High School Choir Performs at Ren Fest
The first performance of the North Platte Choirs year started in Bonner Springs at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. The students enjoyed the experience, “It’s fun and we all have a good time. The music that we sing is fun, too,” says Rayleigh Gann, one of the singers in the choir.
In fact, the choir is a part of the entertainment at the festival so they need to look the part. The students are given time period accurate costumes to wear. Leather shoes, dresses, robes and other Renaissance themed attire.
The teacher, Mrs. Tollefson, also really loves being able to take her choir to the festival every year, saying, “I am excited for our choir students to experience the Renaissance Era through the music they will be performing as well as the sights and activities of the era.”
